Leaked Info on Next-Gen iPhone Posted on Chinese Forum

You know, it’s been a while since we came across some truly interesting rumors regarding the future iPhone, but it would seem that the wait is over, since new tips on the hardware upgrades of the future handheld have just been posted on a Chinese forum. However, much to our disappointment, we’re not talking about any certified information or even who knows what novelty, but about features and specs pretty much everyone suspected to be included in the next iteration of Apple’s smartphone.

So, as the guys over at MacRumors inform us, a couple of days ago, general specifications and even a screenshot from what is claimed to be the next generation iPhone were posted on the Chinese forum Weiphone.

If we were to believe the leaked information, the future iPhone will first of all get a bump up in the CPU speed, up to 600 Mhz from the current 400, as well as a doubling of the amount of RAM memory (256MB instead of the current 128MB). Furthermore, the device will apparently incorporate a Digital Compass and FM receiver, another rumor that’s been making the rounds on the Internet for quite some time.

Other interesting additions will be represented by a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus (but we kind of already knew that), as well as the fact that the device will pack 32GB of flash storage memory. Apparently, no major changes will be registered in the battery, screen and external casing departments.

As MacRumors points out, the user who has posted the respective piece of information is not exactly known as a reliable source for insider info, which means that one should take this with a fairly large pinch of salt. However, given the fact that all of Apple’s products are, after all, manufactured in China, and since Chinese forums have provided a fairly high amount of leaked information that ultimately proved to be true, there might be something to these rumors.
